I’m Phil, a sound designer, supervising sound editor and immersive audio specialist working out of Bethnal Green, London.

I create bespoke, story‑first sound for features, high‑end television and full‑cast audiobooks. I keep the process calm, organised and on schedule, so sound is one less thing to worry about in post. I started out playing in an alt‑rock band, and I still think like a musician, shaping emotional arcs with rich, detailed sound to give every project its own sonic identity.

Immersive audio in Dolby Atmos

I was part of the sound team on the Harry Potter full‑cast audiobooks, where I worked on the sound design throughout the series. All seven books were mixed in Dolby Atmos, a pioneering use of the format at the top end of audiobook production.

Installations and sound art

I also make immersive sound installations and sculptural sound art, supported by Arts Council England and the Canada Council for the Arts.
